We Are Here For YOU!

Students@AEBC

Our Mission, Purpose, and Vision
The student ministry of Antioch East Baptist Church exists to partner with parents in order to help students KNOW God, OWN their faith, and make their faith KNOWN.

Announcements
Our students are getting ready for the 30 Hour Famine on February 24-25! We're raising money throughout the month of February to fight the famine currently taking place in the Horn of Africa. Our goal is to raise $1800 to help feed and care for 5 hungry kids for 1 whole year. $30 can help feed and care for a child for a month. You can donate on our group webpage or by giving a check to one of our students. All donations are tax-deductible! If you'd like more information about the 30 Hour Famine or World Vision, click here or here.

The sign-up deadline for M-Fuge is January 31! A deposit of $50 per student is due by March 1!

Our Strategy for Developing Student Disciples
Some student ministries are driven by events and activities. What makes ours different is that it's driven by a discipleship process--the KNOW-OWN-KNOWN strategy for student spiritual development. The KNOW-OWN-KNOWN strategy is a simple, biblical, and balanced approach to student ministry that operates through the two God-given institutions of the home and the church. It's based on Luke 2:52 (Jesus' own spiritual development) and Matthew 5-7 (the Sermon on the Mount), and it serves as a guideline for everything our student ministry does.

KNOW
We help students KNOW God at Collision, our regular Wednesday night program for teens in grades 7-12. When we collide with God, life-change happens. Transformation happens. We undergo metamorphosis. We're never the same. Collision is a weekly opportunity for students to collide with God and experience the difference He can make in their lives. We're still working on Collision, but when it's fully developed, it will feature student-led worship and powerful challenges from God's Word in a teen-friendly atmosphere. We start at 7:00p. Starting February 8, students are invited to come early for Hang Time (recreation and snacks).

Special KNOW events happen quarterly and are designed to give students a chance to hear about and respond to the salvation offered by Jesus Christ and to extend to them a loud and clear invitation to get involved in our student ministry. Check our Events Calendar for more info about this year's KNOW events!

OWN
We help students OWN their faith at LOLgroup, our regular Sunday morning program for teens in grades 7-12. Unless you've been living under a rock for the past decade, you know that "LOL" is the texting abbreviation for "laughing out loud." Even though we believe that Bible study should never be boring, "LOL" means something a little different to us. It's short for "life on life," and it's rooted in Proverbs 27:17: "As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend." The primary vehicle for spiritual growth has always been relationships. Just as we use iron to sharpen iron, God uses people to sharpen people. LOLgroup is a fun, interactive, discussion-driven Bible study designed to help students discover the life-changing truths found in God's Word and learn how to apply them to their everyday lives in an environment of Christian community. We eat a bite of breakfast at 9:45a and start Bible study at 10:00a.

Special OWN activities happen monthly and are designed to give students an opportunity to experience fun-packed (and sometimes mildly insane) Christian fellowship. Check our Events Calendar for more info about this year's OWN activities!

KNOWN
We help students make their faith KNOWN at M2, our regular Sunday night program for teens in grades 7-12. We believe that when Jesus gave us the Great Commandment (Matthew 22:37-39) and the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20), He meant for us to do more than talk about them; He meant for us to live them out. M2 is short for "ministry and missions," and it's a weekly opportunity for students to put feet on their faith and let God use them to make an impact on the lives of others. We're still working on M2, but when it's fully developed, it will feature home visits, service projects, evangelism training, missionary support, and more. We start at 5:30p.

Special KNOWN events happen quarterly and are designed to give students an outlet for missions and ministry to their schools, state, nation, and world. Check our Events Calendar for more info about this years KNOWN events!

The Parent Partnership
We believe that parents have the God-given responsibility of being the primary spiritual developers of their teenagers (Deuteronomy 6:4-9), providing a home that will give their teens the best possible opportunity to grow spiritually. That can be a pretty scary and difficult job most of the time, which is where our student minister comes in. The role of the student minister is to come alongside parents of teens in order to pray for them and equip them with helpful resources while also providing a balanced set of programs and events designed to move students deeper into the process spiritual development. We call this the Parent Partnership, and it's an essential element of our strategy for molding students into lifelong followers of Jesus Christ. Here's what it looks like:

Parents, be sure to look around our website for some must-have resources as well as information about monthly parent meetings and other upcoming events for you and your students!
